Site Traffic Reports

Google Analytics - Recommended!

We can add the Google Analytics tracking code to the footer of your Platform and module pages. Google Analytics reports are quite extensive, but note the small differences between GA and Traffic Reporter.  Overall, Google Analytics is better.

NOTE: We set up Google Analytics reports for all Public Platform clients. We're happy to set up accounts for any station.

Google Analytics does NOT count or include the following:
  • JukeBox Podcast Page Views
  • Automated No Code Feed Counts/Views
  • Podcast Downloads
  • Pulse/Quick Pledge tracking options

Traffic Reporter

You can also see how your web site is doing via our custom Traffic Reporter, accessible from your portal page or
http://platform.publicbroadcasting.net/xxxx/reporter
If you use Platform, you'll have unified reporting, and the ability to track visitors from your home page to you Modules, and back.

  • Visits (sessions): Number of visits to your site by "people", determined by cookies. Includes repeat visitors.
  • Total Unique Visitors: Number of unique "people" who have visited, determined by cookies.
  • Count/Page Views: Total number of individual pages viewed by all your visitors.
  • Unique Pages Viewed: Total number of different pages viewed by your visitors, not counting number of times each page was viewed. Homepage is one unique page view, regardless of number of times it was viewed.
  • Automated No Code Feed Counts/Views: Total number of times the automated JavaScript feed was loaded. If this feed lives in your home page, viewing the home page equals one count/view.
  • JukeBox Podcast Page Views: Total number of views of the podcast feed. A page view includes:
    • Every time someone downloads a podcast
    • Everytime someone views or loads the podcast feed URL into a browser (and  may or may not download a file)
    • Every time iTunes checks for a new podcast
  • Podcast Downloads: In the Top Podcasts section, next to the podcast name, click the "View Item Details" to see the number of downloads for individual files for each podcast episode
